Late snowmelt prevented reproduction of many waterbirds. The weather was cool and rainy starting from 10 July.

BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

low

Breeding conditions:

Arctic Foxes were rare. Rough-legged Buzzards did not breed. Broods of birds were late and infrequent. Brood size of waterfowl was approximately 30% smaller than average.Terek Sandpiper and Common Snipe were abundant on breeding among waders, Herring Gull - among gulls.
 

Rodent dynamics:

Lemmings were absent, while other rodents were very rare.
